Exploring social media in higher education

Social media is quickly becoming the axis around which today’s society operates. The market most affected by social media is higher education. The majority of high school and college students communicate through text messaging, blogging, video blogging, and social networks.

This blog is intended to explore social media in today’s world and share thoughts, products, inventions, and innovations in the social media world. We want it to serve as your source for information in the ever-evolving world of social media and how it pertains to modern society, especially in higher education.

You may be asking who we are, and what we do. Well, for the last couple of years, we have been building private social networking sites for higher education and other passionate organizations. However, it would be a misnomer to call us social media gurus. While my colleagues are experts in building social networks, we are still learning new things about social media every day, and we want to share what we learn with you.

U360 is a product of Straxis Technology. We have been providing technology solutions to nonprofits, universities and corporations for over nine years. My name is Catie, and I thought this blog would be a great way to have a forum dedicated to learning about social media. I plan to post regularly on what I discover in the social media realm, along with featuring guest authors and linking to other articles and posts that are important to social media.
