Going to NACAC? A Few Suggestions…

Next week is the annual conference for NACAC, the National Association for College Admissions Counselors, and we couldn’t be more excited. We hope you will stop by (Straxis Technology, Booth 617) and say hi while you are there. Either way, here are a few tips for you, based on what I have learned from other conferences this year:

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You can look cute and still be comfortable. Remember that you will be on your feet and walking around most of the day. Cute shoes can be saved for evening functions.
  • Remember to bring a notebook and pen. You might think you remember the counselor or vendor you met, but after meeting about 100 of them, you will regret not bringing these items.
  • Attend the educational sessions. That’s what they are - educational.
  • Attend the functions. It’s free food, and a great chance to meet people who may be great resources for you in the future (this applies to vendors and admissions professionals).
  • Have fun! This isn’t a vacation, but it is time spent out of the office where you can learn valuable tools that you can use to contribute to your school’s success.

Not sure what sessions to attend? We have put together a list of some educational sessions that might be useful to you, and that we think look interesting.
